Cloud backup service Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) based on the VMware Cloud Availability platform, allows you to replicate and restore your virtual machines and vApps both from your local VMware environment to the WaveCom cloud, and vice versa. Our solution integrates easily with clients' existing VMware environment and does not require additional solutions.

The data center and services located in Estonia are rated in compliance with the ISO 27001:2013 information security and availability standard. The service, which you can control and manage yourself, offers flexibility in setting the RPO/PRO value starting from 1 minute. The solution provides maximum protection and availability, keeping data in different locations, and offering automatic orchestrated disaster recovery with just one click.

VMware Cloud Availability is an effective solution for backup, replication, migration, and disaster recovery. It enables data protection not only between WaveCom cloud data centers but also allows data backup from the cloud to your vSphere platform and vice versa. All management can be done in real-time through the Cloud Director HTML5 environment, which is also suitable for mobile devices and includes managing virtual machines and other cloud services.

The deployment of VMware Cloud Availability is fast, and in just a few minutes, customers can manage the backup of all their servers in one environment. Automatic intelligent replication only moves changed data blocks, avoiding problems with traditional backup software, such as freezing disk space and causing errors in databases.

VMware Cloud Availability is an efficient solution against software failures and malicious attacks. In the event of a ransomware attack, the user can quickly and easily restore the state of servers that existed before the virus spread, using the rewind button in the Cloud Director portal.

Data retention is customizable according to the client's needs, allowing them to find backed up data even from 24 days ago, regardless of changes made to that data later. RPO/RTO from 1 minute means that changed blocks of servers can be replicated every minute, ensuring exceptional data availability. As the maximum of 24 save points can quickly be filled with a 1-minute RPO, up to five RPO rules can be used at once when building a single recovery process. For example:

  • 2 save points with a 1-minute interval - Storage period: 2 minutes.
  • 8 save points with a 10-minute interval - Storage period: 80 minutes.
  • 10 save points with a 1-hour interval - Storage period: 10 hours.
  • 2 save points with a 3-day interval - Storage period: 6 days.

  • 2 save points with a 2-month interval - Storage period: 4 months.

Cloud Availability

In case of major issues, disaster recovery and migration plan protocols can be pre-configured to launch even 50 virtual machines in approximately 5 minutes. Even the execution settings of virtual machine and vApp replications can be fine-tuned in terms of priority and order. By previously configuring the Cloud NSX edge gateway VPN, the entire virtual data center is instantly accessible in an alternative location. If necessary, the disaster recovery protocol can be tested daily. Only a recovery simulation is carried out, and the backup continues to work.
