We offer Centos8, Ubuntu 20, Windows 2016srv and Windows2019 installation templates for creating virtual machines, in addition to which we have a collection of various ISO installation media. However, it is always possible to create your own directories and upload either ISO or OVA / OVF files.
Many software vendors already offer preconfigured OVA / OVF containers that you can upload and start using without installing an operating system. Similarly, existing virtual machines can be exported to the same OVA / OVF format on both VMware and Citrix XenServer platforms. It is also possible to install many different systems using ISO media, which is definitely not found in our Public catalog.
In VMware vCloud, you can create your own ISO and OVA / OVF catalogs to use when creating virtual machines, or later add them as a CD drive.
To install new ISO media, open the menu "Libraries -> Catalogs" and click "New".
You must first create a catalog.
Be sure to select the "Pre provision on specific storage policy" option. Select "Storage Policy", ie the storage to which the VM will be created. If you have a larger datacenter, we recommend scattering the VM´e between different storages to increase theoretical availability.
Click "OK" and the catalog is created.
Open "Media & Other" and click "ADD". A window will open where you can add an ISO or OVA / OVF installation media file.
The file starts uploading to the server.
After uploading, the file is ready to use.
You can use the attached ISO file to create a new virtual server. This will be added to the "Boot image" selection.
To install a new OVA / OVF file, open the menu "Libraries -> vApps Templates" and click "New".
A window will open where you can add an OVF file via a URL link or download an OVA / OVF file from your computer. When the selection is made, click "Next".
If "Review Details" is appropriate, click "Next".
"Select vApp Template Name" specify the name of the template and select the directory in which the template will be created. When the selections are made, click "Next".
If the "Ready to Complete" data matches, click "Finish".
You can use the attached OVA/OVF file to create a new vApp (Data Centers -> vApps -> Add vApp from Catalog).
