You can also restore files on VM disks according to the restore point. To do this, select “Pick from list” next to the search box from the Veeam self-service portal and select it from the list, or type the name of the VM in the search box and click on the search result.
Next, by clicking on the calendar, you need to select the corresponding restore point by day and time from which to start restoring the files. Then press "Mount".
After a few moments, visible disks on the VM operating system will appear on the left. You can find files by entering a file name in the search box or by manually searching for a file on a specific disk.
When the file you want is found, select it, and then there are several ways to restore that file.
Under the Restore option, you can restore files to the source machine. Selecting “Overwrite” will overwrite the existing file in the original location, or selecting “Keep” will save the file in the same location with the name format “RESTORED-filename”.
You will then be prompted to enter the operating system administrator user name and password.
After that, the file will be restored to its original location, when the recovery is successfully completed, the “Success” status will be displayed.
Selecting “Keep” during the recovery process will add “RESTORED-” to the name of the restored file.
Under the Download option, you can download the desired file to your computer. Once the download job is complete, a "download" link will appear below the "Log" option.
The "Add to Restore List" button can be used to add a file to the restore list if you need to restore several files from different folders and later restore or download them at once.
Click “Pending restore” to go to the list of selected files.
A new window will open with a list of files, where you can restore files from the “Restore” option to the source machine or from the “Download” option to download to your computer.
